Orca v1.4.240 asks before Codex runs an MCP tool, and orca ports finds your dev servers

Orca v1.4.240: Orca's Codex chat now asks before running an MCP tool that needs approval, and the new orca ports command lists the ports each workspace's dev servers are listening on. Also: a Claude chat shows the turns you continued in a terminal, Orca's browser gets a history view, a remote server hiccup shows one notice instead of a banner in every pane, and the editor highlights Zig and Lean. Codex asks before MCP tools

Orca

Orca’s Codex chat asks before running an MCP tool that needs approval

Allow, Allow for this session, or Deny. Always allow isn’t offered yet.

Orca's Codex chat with an approval card: Allow the probe MCP server to run tool write_marker? with Allow and Deny buttons
stablyai/orca release notes on GitHub · PR #33310

When Codex wanted to run an MCP tool that needs your permission, Orca's Codex chat quietly answered no for you, and the tool call failed. Now an approval card asks you first.

Claude chats catch up

Orca

A Claude chat in Orca now shows the turns you continued in a terminal

The next time that chat starts Claude, Orca adds the missing prompts, replies and tool results once, in order.

stablyai/orca release notes on GitHub · PR #31615

Continue a saved Claude conversation in a terminal, and Claude remembered the new turns while Orca's chat left them out. Now the chat adds those turns, in order, the next time it starts Claude.

orca ports

Orca

orca ports lists the ports a workspace’s dev servers are listening on

$ orca ports
47931 pid=… Python 127.0.0.1 unknown match=cwd

Direct SSH hosts don’t support port detection yet. Move the project to an Orca server on that host to see its ports.

stablyai/orca release notes on GitHub · PR #33016, #33055

Vite picks a random port when its default is taken, and writes it nowhere. The new orca ports command lists each workspace's ports, so an agent opens the right dev site. Plain SSH hosts aren't supported yet.

Browser history

Orca

Orca’s browser gets a history view and Chrome-style Escape

Cmd+Y on macOS, Ctrl+H on Linux and Windows. Search it, remove a page from suggestions, or clear the last hour, today or all time.

stablyai/orca release notes on GitHub · PR #31846

Orca's built-in browser now has a history view, on Command Y on a Mac and Control H elsewhere. Search it, drop a page you don't want suggested, or clear the last hour.

One reconnect notice

Orca

A remote Orca server hiccup now shows one notice, not a banner in every pane

Waits
5 seconds before announcing a reconnect that fixes itself
Says
which server, the cause, and how long it has been down
Tailscale
endpoints get a tailscale ping hint
stablyai/orca release notes on GitHub · PR #33095

When the link to a remote Orca server dropped, every terminal flashed a reconnect banner after one second. Now Orca waits five seconds, then shows one notice naming the server, the cause and the downtime.

The editor now highlights Zig and Lean, and Orca recognizes more GitLab and Bitbucket remotes. Keys typed before a terminal opens are kept. If you run Codex with MCP servers, I'd update today: Orca finally asks before a tool runs.
