Ideogram 4.5 takes an old drawing to a dusk photograph in nine edits, and the building stays put
Ideogram has a new model, Ideogram four point five, built for editing pictures again and again. Here's one example from its page. An old architect's drawing. Clean it up. Add watercolour. Turn it into a photograph. Then a forecourt, new doors and windows, two trees, late sun, two people, and finally dusk. Nine edits in a row, and the building never moves.
Each edit can shift pixels, colours and texture; Ideogram says 4.5 drifts less
That's the problem it goes after. Every time an image model edits a picture, Ideogram says, it can shift pixels, colours and textures, and over many edits that adds up. Four point five is built to cut that drift, so the details survive edit after edit.
One portrait, the same 14 edits: Ideogram 4.5 against GPT Image 2.5 and Nano Banana
Ideogram's own test. One portrait, fourteen edits, the same prompts for every model. Four point five is on the left. On the right, in turn, OpenAI's G P T Image two point five, then Google's Nano Banana Pro and Nano Banana two. Watch the right side: the hair turns red, the skin gets heavier, and the backdrop picks up texture. Ideogram says the others become unusable within a few edits.
It rewrites a sign in the same letters, even into French
Words are where edits usually go wrong. Here the sign's line becomes "fresh bagels every morning". "Cedar" becomes "Maple", in the same big letters. Then the line is translated into French. The building and the sky don't change.
It restores a damaged old portrait, colours it, then makes it look shot today
Old photos too. A damaged portrait loses its scratches and rust spots. Then it gets period colours. Then it's made into a modern photo of that same moment: the same face, the same pose, now with real skin and freckles.
In a 24-megapixel photo, it recolours just the handbag, at full size
And it edits big files without shrinking them. This is a runway photo of about twenty-four megapixels, shown here at its own pixels. The handbag goes from pale green to deep red. Ideogram says it keeps the edges of the edited patch, so it fits back into the original, and the rest stays sharp and untouched.
Ideogram 4.5 is in Ideogram's app and its API
From Ideogram's model page, read 5 October 2026. The page gives no release date; its comparison film was posted 30 September 2026.
You can try Ideogram four point five in Ideogram's app, and developers can call it for editing and generating. The page doesn't give a release date; its comparison film went up on September thirtieth. The model page and the API docs are linked below.
