WebSearch refills
WebSearch now refills over time instead of stopping at 200 calls
- Before
- an interactive session's searches ended after 200 calls
- Now
- the budget refills at 100 calls an hour
- The rate
- an environment variable sets it
In an interactive session, WebSearch no longer stops for good after two hundred calls. Its budget now refills over time, at a hundred calls an hour, and an environment variable sets the rate.
WebFetch long pages
>WebFetch now says when a page runs past 100,000 characters
- Before
- text past 100,000 characters was dropped silently
- Now
- it reports how much was left unread
- offset
- lets Claude carry on from there
WebFetch used to drop any page text past a hundred thousand characters without a word. Now it says how much went unread, and takes an offset so Claude can carry on from there.
Scheduled tasks
>Scheduled tasks stop going missing
- After compaction
- /loop and reminders come back on resume, for compactions made from this version on
- After a hand-off
- a task set in the foreground fires once the session moves to the background
- Updates, low memory
- a session waiting on a wakeup is left running
Scheduled tasks, like /loop and reminders, now come back on resume after compaction, from this version on. They fire after a background hand-off, and a waiting session survives updates and low memory.
More commands ask first
>More Bash commands now ask before they run
- rg, git grep
- prompt when the shell would still expand a wildcard in their arguments
- pyright
- no longer treated as a read-only command
- ps
- more forms of it ask for approval
Bash permission checks got stricter. rg and git grep now prompt when the shell would expand a wildcard in their arguments. Pyright no longer counts as read-only, and more forms of ps ask first.
Long sessions unstuck
>Long sessions and resumed agents stop getting stuck
- Hundreds of images
- no longer stuck on “unprocessable by the model” errors
- Filter stops a reply
- while Claude is thinking, the request is retried once
- Resumed subagents
- keep their earlier thinking and prompt cache
Long sessions with hundreds of images no longer get stuck on unprocessable errors. A reply the output filter stops mid-thought is retried once. And resumed subagents keep their earlier thinking and prompt cache.
VS Code timestamps
>In VS Code, message timestamps now show by default
- Timestamps
- on by default; a setting turns them off
- File pills
- hover one to see its path from the project folder
- Screen readers
- announce “Message queued.” when you send while Claude works
In VS Code, message timestamps now show by default, and a setting turns them off. Hovering a file pill shows its path, and screen readers announce when a message is queued.
