Bisque for iPhone and iPad is free on the App Store. It is the phone-sized way to watch what the channels you follow publish, or to let it play with the screen off.
What it does
- Watch or listen. Channels publish presentations a few minutes each. Watch them like video, or let them play like a podcast, with captions, playback speed, AirPlay, and background audio.
- Your subscriptions are the feed. You pick the channels; there is no algorithm deciding what you see, and when you've seen what's new, the feed ends.
- Shorts, with information in them.
- Continue watching keeps you one tap from where you stopped, on iPhone, iPad, and the web. Notifications when a channel publishes, only if you turn them on.
- Notes. Tap anywhere and talk; the note is transcribed on your device and filed in your Library. An Apple Watch companion and a lock-screen Live Activity capture without opening the app.
- Library. Your history, resume points, notes, and anything you share into Bisque from other apps, plus a home-screen widget for recent notes and documents.
- No account required. Start subscribing the moment the app opens. Sign in later with Apple or Google and everything carries over.
Which links open in the app
The app opens a bisque.today or bisque.cloud link only when it can show that exact page in full. Every other link stays in Safari.
| Link | Opens in | Why |
|---|---|---|
A watch page, /p/{owner}/{slug} | App | The app plays it natively; ?autoplay=1 is honored |
A channel, /p/{owner} | App | The app has a channel page |
A watch page with ?list= | Safari | The app has no playlist surface |
A watch page with ?slide=N or ?t= | Safari | The player has no native slide or time seek |
A watch page with ?v= | Safari | The app plays the current version only |
A watch page with ?embed=1 | Safari | Embeds render inside someone else's page |
Playlists and podcast.xml | Safari | Web-only surfaces |
An Artifact, /artifacts/{id} | App | The native Artifact viewer shows it, for an account with access |
An Artifact with ?thread= | App | The viewer opens on that comment thread |
| The Artifact library and deeper paths | Safari | Web-only |
A task, /tasks?task=… | App | Native Tasks, opened on that task |
| bisque.team pages | Safari | The app has no organization support |
| Docs, marketing, account and sign-in | Safari | Never claimed |
A few things about how that behaves:
- Browsing bisque.today in Safari never jumps you into the app. Links open the app when tapped somewhere else, such as Messages, Mail, or Slack.
- Long-press a link for "Open in Safari", and iOS remembers the choice.
- The only "get the app" nudge is Safari's own banner on watch and channel pages. It is dismissible and reads "Open" when the app is installed.
- A link is never a dead end. When the app cannot show a presentation or an Artifact, it offers "Open in Safari" and the web page takes over.
