Codex tabs flag a shared server
A Codex tab on Codex’s shared server now says so, and offers a Fix
Fix turns the sharing off and shows the exact command it runs. A terminal opened before the update offers a new terminal instead.
In Orca 1.4.219, a Codex tab that joins Codex's shared server shows a notice, because there, closing one tab can end the others. Fix turns the sharing off and shows the command it runs.
Orca stops breaking Codex
Orca no longer leaves Codex broken
- config.toml
- no duplicate folder trust entry, which stopped every
codexcommand; old copies are cleaned up - Update prompt
- the usage check stops clicking “Update now”
- ~/.codex
- opening a terminal keeps Orca’s status hook
After you upgrade, Codex launches use Orca’s managed Codex home until Codex approves Orca’s new status hook.
Orca also stops damaging Codex itself. A duplicate trust entry that stopped every codex command is gone and cleaned up, the usage check stops clicking Update now, and your status hook stays.
Agents start without a trust prompt
Orca answers “Do you trust this folder?” before the agent asks
- Agents
- Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Copilot, Qoder, Antigravity
- Unstuck
- orchestration workers, automations, agents started from your phone
- Setting
- on by default: Settings → Agents → “Trust the folder when Orca starts an agent”
On Alpine WSL, Claude still shows its own trust prompt.
When Orca starts an agent in a folder, it now answers the trust question ahead of time. So workers, automations and agents started from your phone stop getting stuck there. It's on by default, with a switch in Settings.
Mid-turn messages wait as cards
A message sent mid-turn waits as a card you can Steer, edit or delete
Native chat is experimental. Left alone, the card is sent when the turn ends, on desktop and on the phone.
In the experimental native chat, a message you send while the agent works now waits as a card. Steer it into the running turn, edit it or delete it, on desktop or phone.
Worker reports get through
An orchestration worker’s “I’m done” report gets through
- Compacted
- no longer rejected after the worker’s conversation is compacted
- Unreachable
- retried for about two minutes if Orca is briefly unreachable
worker-abandon- settles a stuck worker every time
Orchestration workers' done reports now get through. They're accepted after compaction, retried for about two minutes when Orca is briefly unreachable, and worker abandon always settles a stuck worker.
Notes, Codex panes, dropped images
A saved untitled note survives closing its tab
- Notes
- Orca used to delete a saved untitled note when its tab closed
- Codex panes
- no longer freeze for about a second while you type
- Dropped images
- names with brackets or spaces, like
download (1).png, attach to the agent
Three fixes you may have hit. A saved untitled note no longer gets deleted when you close its tab. Codex panes stop freezing while you type. And images with brackets or spaces in their names attach.
Linux keys encrypted, native orca on Windows
More Linux desktops encrypt your saved API keys and tokens
- Linux
- Hyprland, sway, river and niri, when your keyring is running and unlocked
- Settings
- warns next to a credential saved without encryption
- Windows
- the
orcacommand is a native program; antivirus kept deleting the old one
Windows 10 on ARM can’t run the new orca command.
On Hyprland, sway, river and niri, Orca now encrypts saved keys and tokens. Settings warns about any stored without encryption. On Windows, the orca command is native, because antivirus kept deleting the old one.
