OpenCode ends session sharing
OpenCode ends session sharing and keeps OpenCode 1 updates on 1.x
OpenCode 1 has ended session sharing. The /share and /unshare commands are gone from the terminal and the desktop app, and share links you already sent stop working.
What goes with sharing
opencodeShare links stop working everywhere OpenCode used them
Importing a session from a share link now fails with an error, though a session saved as a JSON file still imports. The GitHub Action stops sharing too, and the PR command no longer pulls sessions from pull request links.
OpenCode 1 updates stay on 1.x
opencodeA routine update keeps you on OpenCode 1
OpenCode 2 stays a choice you make in /update.
Update checks in OpenCode 1 now look only at OpenCode 1's own package, so a routine update never hands you OpenCode 2. Moving to OpenCode 2 stays a choice you make yourself, through the offer in /update.
Updates per package manager
opencodeUpdates fit how you installed OpenCode
Upgrades installed through Yarn now work, where they used to fail. Homebrew Core now carries OpenCode 2, so OpenCode 1 installed from it gets no more updates. The Homebrew tap and Chocolatey offer an update only once it's published there.
Reasoning options set a model's variants
opencodeReasoning options you configure now build a model’s variants
Your own variant overrides still apply on top.
When your organization's admin sets which reasoning controls a model accepts in the OpenCode Console, OpenCode 1 now uses them to build that model's variants. Variant overrides you set yourself still apply on top.
Bun 1.4 with security fixes
opencodeOpenCode now runs on Bun 1.4, with its security fixes
The Linux x64 binary grows from 187 MB to 207 MB.
OpenCode's bundled runtime moves up to Bun 1.4. That brings security fixes for TLS, every HTTP version, WebSockets, fetch and Brotli, plus updated root certificates. The download grows too, by about 20 megabytes on Linux.
