Missing model, no recording
Handy v0.9.8 shows a missing‑model error before you start talking
If the selected model can't load, the shortcut doesn't start a recording.
Handy v0.9.8 checks your model before it records. If the model is missing or not downloaded yet, the shortcut won't start recording, and the load error shows right away. History no longer keeps that empty take for a retry.
Chinese script setting
Chinese dictation comes out in the script you pick
Mandarin and Cantonese only. Other languages are left unchanged.
If you dictate in Mandarin or Cantonese, a new Chinese Script setting writes your text in Simplified or Traditional characters, or leaves it as transcribed. Other languages are left unchanged.
Filler-word fixes
Filler-word removal keeps “Ha” and fixes the capital
Ha is off the English filler list, so Ha Long Bay keeps its name. And when Handy cuts an um that opens a sentence, the next word now gets the capital letter.
Shortcut fixes
Escape works again after a very short recording

On macOS, a very short recording could hold the Escape key system-wide until you quit Handy. That's fixed. Shortcuts the Tauri backend can't parse now reset to the default, and key names with spaces save properly.
Model unload and history
The model unloads even after a recording with no speech
- Unload: Immediatelynow frees the model every time
- Historyshows Copied only once the copy worked
- Settingseach section opens at the top
With model unload set to Immediately, Handy now frees the model even after a recording with no speech in it. In History, the Copied check appears only once the copy worked, and each settings section opens at the top.
