Room TBA 2.38 finishes round two in one release. Riders can report jeeps, hikers get the Makiling Trail, and the app gains a You tab and a Layers sheet. Contributors get a fairer leaderboard and stronger sign-in, and anyone running their own copy has settings to change.
Every route at a jeepney stop gets two buttons, Jeep is here and It was full. A tap tells the next rider when the last jeep passed, and after four jeeps in an hour, roughly how often they come. Reports are anonymous, one per route every three minutes from each device, and the server stores no IP address, account or location.
Hikers get the Makiling Trail, traced from OpenStreetMap, from Station 1 at the trailhead up to Peak 2. Tap a station for its elevation, the distance from the start and to the peak, and what to know there. Eight stations have no OpenStreetMap marker, so the map leaves them out.
On phones, the app menu becomes a fifth tab called You. On desktop it is the avatar at the top right. You holds your account, the leaderboard, final exams and Settings, plus a Light, Dark and System switch. Offline maps, resync and reset now share one screen.
The Layers sheet is reorganized. Map type is Default or Satellite, and 3D is now a switch under Map details, beside orgs, landmarks, the trail and your classes. Leave a filter on, like Events only, and it shows in an On the map bar with an X to remove it.
The leaderboard now weighs the work. A new place earns five points, rooms and schedules three, photos and position fixes two, and a text edit one. Medals start at three points, and reverted edits stop earning. Credit follows a hidden ID in your browser, so two spellings of your name stay one person.
The campus wiki grows. New pages cover campus abbreviations, a jeepney guide, and how to use Room TBA itself. The article list has a filter box, pages follow dark mode, and every wiki page is in the sitemap for search engines.
Sign-in got a security pass. Emails are confirmed by a signed link, and Sign out of all devices ends every older session. Staff get two-step codes and email invites, and new passwords are checked against known breaches. Anonymous suggestions are now withdrawn with a private browser token, so ones made before this release can no longer be withdrawn anonymously.
If you run your own copy, the shared admin password is gone. Set the admin session secret and create named admins with the set admin user script. The old password now works only while zero admins are active. Production also needs a Turnstile secret key, two-step needs the TOTP encryption key, and ten new database migrations need applying.
Jeep frequency comes only from rider taps, so a stop shows No recent reports until people start tapping. Students have nothing to install. Room TBA 2.38 brings jeep reports, the Makiling Trail and safer sign-in to room-tba.uplb.tools.
