Stuck updates finish
OpenClaw v2026.10.3 finishes stuck updates and stops Doctor deleting your data
OpenClaw v2026.10.3 gets stuck updates moving again. An update blocked by a lost lease, a completed receipt OpenClaw failed to recognize, or a legacy activation record now recovers and finishes, where before it refused every retry.
Windows, macOS and pnpm updates
Updates on Windows, macOS and pnpm keep the Gateway running
On Windows, macOS and pnpm installs, an update could leave the OpenClaw Gateway stopped or roll itself back. Scheduled Task accounts, short install paths, Bun service commands and pnpm 12 launchers now keep working through it.
Chat updates stick
Updates you ask for in chat stay installed
Doctor's cleanup could roll back an update you asked for in chat, or a plugin upgrade, and both now stay installed. A stale Codex runtime left over from an update also stops breaking your next turn.
02: Doctor
Doctor, and the data it repairs.
OAuth profiles kept
Doctor keeps your OAuth profiles when the legacy auth store is unreadable
A malformed legacy store no longer costs you a profile.
When OpenClaw's legacy auth store was unreadable or malformed, a Doctor repair deleted your canonical OAuth profiles with it. Doctor now keeps those profiles in place.
Memory files byte-exact
Memory files with malformed UTF-8 stay byte-exact
A Doctor repair could rewrite OpenClaw's root memory files with replacement characters. Doctor now leaves them byte for byte as they were. And editing a file with path set rejects malformed UTF-8 before anything gets written.
Blocked plugins stay enabled
Plugins blocked by a path-safety check stay enabled
Running Doctor as root no longer strips their enabled flag.
Run as root, Doctor stripped the enabled flag from any installed plugin its path-safety checks blocked. Those plugins now stay installed with their enabled flag intact.
03: Agents and models
Agents and models.
After native compaction
The turn after native compaction goes through
Without loading a large transcript in full.
After an OpenClaw conversation went through native compaction, the next turn could fail. That turn now succeeds, and OpenClaw gets there without loading the whole transcript, however large it has grown.
OpenAI and Codex turns
OpenAI and Codex turns that failed now finish
A ChatGPT WebSocket that closes mid-stream no longer fails your turn. Switching back to an OpenAI model with the Codex plugin disabled works, and a Codex follow-up recovers after thread preparation failed.
Meta Muse Wonder
Meta’s Muse Wonder is available as a model
Meta's Muse Wonder is the new model in this release. You can now pick it in OpenClaw like any other model you run your agents on.
MiniMax
MiniMax sign-ins stop failing two hours after login
MiniMax OAuth sign-ins used to fail about two hours after login. They now refresh expired tokens at the regional endpoint that issued them. And MiniMax M3.1 models now follow the thinking effort level you select.
04: Apps and Gateway
The Mac app, the Gateway, and Android.
On this Mac
“On this Mac” setup works on a fresh Mac
On a fresh Mac, choosing On this Mac at first run failed with Gateway rejected auth. It now authenticates the Gateway the app hosts. And after a trusted certificate renews, the Mac app reconnects.
Gateway
The Gateway handles pairing and restarts it used to fail on
OpenClaw node requests stop failing with pairing changed when another device pairs. Claude CLI session tools outlive the turn that opened their MCP loopback, and the Gateway restarts cleanly after a stored cloud worker's machine disappears.
Android waits
This release ships without a new Android APK
The Android app stays on its August build.
If you run OpenClaw on Android, this release skipped the Android APK. The Android app stays on its August build until a later release ships a new one.
