Hermes Agent v0.22.5 is a patch release. It rolls up about 80 merged pull requests since v0.22.4 into a stable build for the CLI, the Microsoft Store app, Docker and Hermes Cloud. The biggest new thing is delegation routing: you choose which model, or which Hermes profile, each subagent runs on. The full curated notes for this stretch arrive with v0.23.0.
Delegation now has backends. Install the official advanced delegation plugin, then pick one in your config, or switch for a single chat with the delegation command. Model map gives the agent named routes, each with its own model, provider, reasoning effort and speed tier. Profile routes run a subagent as another Hermes profile, with that profile's config, model and skills. The default backend keeps today's behaviour.
Nous accounts got simpler. Every sign-in is now the plain device login. If you started on the free tier as a guest, that guest hands over to your account when you sign in, and the result shows who signed in. Plans with usage windows now show a gauge, and a limit card that names the allowance you hit, suggests free models, and runs the turn again once you switch.
These are fixes you may have run into. The one most people will notice: a chat whose working folder was deleted used to fail with model request failed, and now it says the folder is gone. Hermes update stops offering a stable release it would then refuse, Windows updates stop sticking to the old launcher, and long Claude answers are no longer cut off by the stall timer.
On Desktop, you can drag a session to pin it in the sidebar, install a plugin from the catalog with one click, and set delegation routing in Settings. App sounds also get a mute toggle. These reach the Microsoft Store app with this release. If you installed Desktop from the installer for Windows or Mac, it picks them up with the next bundled release.
This release patches 20 dependency advisories. Four are rated critical: certifi, Pillow, tinypool and simple-git. On the Python side, aiohttp and oauthlib move up too. Pillow goes to version 13 and oauthlib to version 4, both new major versions, so a plugin that pins the old ones may need an update.
Here's what could break. Migrating from OpenClaw, Claude Code, Codex or Cursor now goes through the agent importers plugin and the import agent command, and API keys come over only when you ask for them. The old claw migrate spelling still works. Setup offers the plugin when it finds another agent. The Singularity terminal backend is its own plugin now. And running Hermes as an MCP server moved to the MCP serve plugin.
To upgrade the CLI, run hermes update, or run the installer one-liner again. Docker and Hermes Cloud pull the stable tag. The Store app updates itself, and the installer version of Desktop waits for the next bundled release. If a script imports from OpenClaw, runs hermes MCP serve, or uses the Singularity backend, install that plugin first. Then upgrade to v0.22.5.
