Update
gstack's auto-update now saves your local edits instead of leaving conflict markers
gstack's auto-update could leave conflict markers in an install with local edits. Now it saves your edits to a rescue ref first. Once a day it says how to inspect or delete it.
Reviews
Plan reviews get their second opinion back on Claude Code 2.1.277 and later
/plan-ceo-review, /plan-eng-review and /plan-devex-reviewClaude Code removed its Task Output tool, so without Codex, plan reviews always lost their second opinion. Now a Plan subagent runs in the background, and a complete report inside five minutes counts. That covers all three plan reviews.
Compaction
/autoplan keeps going after a Claude Code auto-compaction
On Claude Code 2.1.300, an auto-compaction could lock an /autoplan run. Now the run carries on. A compaction layout gstack can't parse yet gets a visible warning instead of a lock.
Gates
Answering “all” at an /autoplan gate leaves plan changes to you
Answering “all” at an /autoplan gate now resolves only the items reviewers recommend keeping. Ones they recommend changing wait for you. Unattended runs log whether a person or an agent answered.
Upgrade
A gstack upgrade waits while a session is still using the install
A gstack upgrade no longer moves the checkout under a running session: each skill run holds a lease, and the upgrade waits. A lease expires after two hours, and you can force the upgrade.
Scans
/cso finishes its scans, and browse gets its tab back
INVALID_OUTPUT/cso Semgrep reports now survive redaction, so rerun any scan that ended with invalid output. /cso also runs through OrbStack's Docker. And browse recovers when every tab was closed.
Windows
gstack on Windows updates and runs its own scripts again
docs/troubleshooting.mdAuto-update held: install recoveryOn Windows, auto-update is no longer held on every release. Setup works under PowerShell 5.1, and gstack's scripts run through Git Bash. Installs held since 1.91.89.0 need the one-time recovery in the troubleshooting guide.
